Protea was founded in 2018 based on the observation that, in Brazil, thousands of women are waiting to be seen and treated in the public health service, since more than 75% of the population depends on it.

It is the view of Protea Institute that every woman has the right to receive dignified, high-quality, and timely treatment after the diagnosis of breast cancer.

Protea is one of the most beautiful and ancient flowers in the world. It comes from South Africa and its name derives from the Greek God Proteus, a deity with the power of metamorphosis.
